Who should I contact?

• Are you thinking about becoming a diocesan priest? You may call or email Fr. Paul Rutten to see if this might be God’s plan for your life.

• Would you like to know more about the permanent diaconate?  Feel free to contact Deacon Roger Heidt.

• If you are thinking of becoming a sister, brother, or are considering some other form of consecrated life, you may contact Therese Ivers to assist you in your discernment process.

• If you wish to arrange for a vocations talk, or wish to have the presence of priests, seminarians, or consecrated persons at your event, you may contact Therese Ivers or the Vocations Office.

What should I talk about?

You may want to begin by telling your story. How long have you been discerning a vocation? How old are you? What is your background?

You should also specify whether you feel more comfortable in being contacted by phone, or email. Or, if you feel more comfortable in meeting in person, you may arrange to meet at the Vocations Office in the Diocesan Chancery building.

What should I expect if I contact the Vocations Office?

Discerning your vocation can be a delicate process. If you feel that you might have a vocation to the priesthood or consecrated life, but aren’t sure about it, you may find it beneficial to talk to one of us so you can get a feel for the different paths in life open to you. We are happy to assist you in exploring the path God is calling you to follow in your faith journey in a manner that is pressure-free.

If you email or leave a voicemail for a member of our Vocations Team, you should expect a reply back by phone or email. There may be a delay if the person you are trying to contact is on retreat, but rest assured, we try to get in touch with you as soon as we can.
