As the newly appointed full time Vocations Director, Fr. Paul Rutten will "do a lot of working with the priests of the diocese, either encouraging them to take guys to visit seminaries and encouraging them to put out the names of the men they consider possible vocations". Fr. Rutten was ordained in 2002 by Archbishop Robert J. Carlson and has a brother who is a seminarian studying at St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, MN.
His last assignment was Director of the Pius XII Newman Center at South Dakota State University, Brookings and pastor of St. Paul Parish, White. Fr. Rutten brings much experience with working with the young adults of this Diocese.
